For the 2008-2009 academic year, the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center at UC Santa Barbara is presented a series of talks and events on the theme Food Matters. Topics included food production and consumption, food as a commodity, the global food crisis, environmental aspects of food production, slow food, gardens, sustainability, farmers markets, diet and the cultural history of food.
