Reilly Clark

Reilly Clark is an art historian studying repatriation, restitution, and museum practice. As a Ph.D. Student in the History of Art & Architecture, Reilly focuses on the return of looted, stolen, and contested cultural patrimony. His interdisciplinary study draws from art history, museum studies, religious studies, environmental studies, and law, as well as hands-on experience collaborating with Indigenous communities. Reilly has had the privilege of returning cultural objects from private families to the Quapaw Nation, the Oglala Lakota Nation (Oglala Sioux Tribe), and the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes. He has had the privilege of working on many more institutional repatriation cases through the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History under the purview of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA).
