Position: Nonprofit Marketing and Communications Fellow

The Nonprofit Marketing and Communications Fellow will build out new storytelling-focused communications across all Santa Barbara Foundation channels, culminating in a comprehensive communications project with a particular topic-area focus, such as Housing Affordability or one of the special initiatives in Community Health Workers/Promotors workforce development, Digital Equity in Santa Barbara County/Tri-Counties Region, or Child Care Expansion and Professional Development. Superb written communications, creativity, drive, and reliability required, and editing experience preferred. Spanish language fluency a plus, but not necessary.

Internship Objectives:

  • Develop knowledge and skills in marketing and communication
  • Gain professional experience in nonprofit and community foundation marketing and fundraising support

Internship Duties:

  • Support the Santa Barbara Foundation’s storytelling capacity for complex and multifaceted collaborative initiatives
  • Write marketing and communication across channels: social media, website blog and page design, email marketing, video content development, newsletter content, print collateral, presentation decks, and more
  • Collaborate with SBF Philanthropic Services and Programs Teams on donor cultivation and stewardship and public-facing communications to demonstrate impact

The internship will take place for ten weeks (20 hours/week) beginning in June 2024. It will include both in-person and optional remote work.
