Marjorie Agosin is an award-winning poet and Human Rights activist. She has authored almost twenty books of poetry and memoir and has also edited numerous anthologies dedicated to Latin-American women writers. She has been recognized by the government of Chile with the Gabriela Mistral Medal of Honor for Life Achievement in 2002 and was nominated for the Neustad Prize for World Literature in 2003 and 2005.
