Samuel H. Yamashita is the Henry E. Sheffield Professor of History at Pomona College and an author of numerous publications on Japanese intellectual history including Leaves from An Autumn of Emergencies: Selections from the Wartime Diaries of Ordinary Japanese.  His talk will explore life on the home front in Japan during WWII.
