Tanner Cassidy - Event

Tanner Cassidy is a Ph.D. candidate in Music Theory. His research focuses on postwar Japanese film music, particularly the ways that composers brought their own political ideologies to the process of scoring narrative films. He is also interested in jazz, twentieth-century music, harmony, musical nationalism, and musical trauma. In addition to his research, Tanner is an active performer as a jazz musician and community orchestra conductor. He is also an arts administrator, working at the Music Academy of the West and serving on the board of Opera Santa Barbara.
