The New Sexualities Focused Research Group brings together a diverse group of scholars working in the field of sexualities studies. The military and the state, new media and technology, porn, and religion are some of the subjects that we investigate as they relate to the development and expression of sexual identities, politics, and communities. In recognizing that other identity categories (such as race, class and gender) and social forces (economic and social institutions) influence the development and expression of sexual identities, acts, and practices, we push the boundaries of critical sexual studies.
