IHC Senior Fellowships
The Interdisciplinary Humanities Center is pleased to announce a new IHC Fellows Program open to all recent UCSB Ph.D.s in the Humanities and the Humanistic Social Sciences.
Description of the IHC Senior Fellows Program:
The IHC Senior Fellows will be affiliated with the IHC and will have opportunities to participate in the Center’s classes, activities and research groups. All IHC Senior Fellows will be asked to present their work at the IHC. The fellowship also provides UCSB library privileges, eligibility for campus parking, and an email account. The IHC Senior Fellowship does not include a stipend; however, it does not make one ineligible for campus RAships or lectureships.
The term of the Fellowship will be one year with an automatic extension to two years upon request. Senior fellows must be in residence at least two terms of the fellowship year.
The IHC particularly encourages applications from scholars working in an interdisciplinary way or from those whose dissertation work opens new avenues of research within their field.
Application Process:
The IHC Senior Fellowship is open to all UCSB Ph.D.s who have received their degree between June 2008 and August 2010.
Completed applications must include:
- Cover letter explaining the research project to be undertaken during the Fellowship period.
- Curriculum vitae
- A letter of support from the applicant’s dissertation director or faculty graduate advisor should also be sent directly to the IHC no later than the application due date.
Application deadline is April 15.
Seven complete sets of application must be received at the IHC (HSSB 6046) no later than 5:00pm on the deadline date. If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, applications are due the first business day following the deadline.
