Roundtable:
This roundtable discussion brings together leading scholars of the Spanish
Borderlands of North America -- Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona,
and California -- to debate the future directions of research, teaching,
and public education in the field. One central organizing
theme will be to link up with initiatives currently underway within
the National Park Service in their search for an overarching interpetive
framework for the dozens of Spanish Borderlands sites under that organization's
purview, with special attention to the Indian and Spanish heritage within
our national patrimony.
