TALK: Performance and the New Social Order

Marko Peljhan will present a selection of his interdisciplinary
performance-, situation- and production- based work
from 1989 to 2003. Projects cited will include the Atol
and Signal-Sever performance series, the Ladomir
Faktura works and Makrolab, an ongoing
interdisciplinary art/science endeavor. Peljhan will
also present samples of the performance and dance-based
works produced under his flight directorship in microgravity
parabolic ‘weightless’ conditions. Marko
Peljhan is a professor in the Art and Media Arts and
Technology Departments at UCSB, His work has been included
in major international exhibitions such as Documenta
X, the 2nd Johannesburg Biennale, Arts
Electronica, Media City Seoul, Gwangju
Biennalle, Manifesta and Venice Biennale.
