Former Platters member and veteran soul singer,
Ron Paris presents “Sweet Soul Music,” a
lecture-performance that describes the development of
R&B and the contribution of soul music to social
justice in the US. Ron Paris, a soul singer and activist
opened for the Jackson Five and Redd Foxx, and performed
in clubs and casinos in Las Vegas for some twenty years
before moving to Santa Barbara. His new CD, Soul Mate,
was released in November 2005.
