Join the UCSB Music Department for an interdisciplinary conference, Disciplining the Horn. Keynote speaker and guest clinician, Sean Kierman (University of Cape Town) is a noted expert on Audio-Psycho-Phonology. Kierman was also a leader of “The Genesis Project,” an outreach endeavor that brought music education to Cape Flats, South Africa during the period of the country’s transition to a multi-racial democracy. The conference will bring together researchers from Music, Black Studies and Psychology in a series of lectures, performances and panel discussions. All events are open to the public.
