David Edgar, one of Britain’s leading playwrights,
will talk about his ground breaking 1994 play Pentecost
prior to the opening night performance of the play,
directed by Irwin Appel in Hatlen Theater. Pentecost,
first staged by the Royal Shakespeare Company in London,
has been called “powerful, urgent and brilliant.
. . the first serious response in the British theatre
to the tragedy of Sarajevo.”
The annual Hester and Cedric Crowell Endowed Lecture.
