This paper looks at 13th century penitential models
of female selfhood in the francophone literature produced
in Britain following Lateran IV and at women’s
books which were ignored by 19th century nationalist
scholarship because they were written in French rather
than English.
Presented by Medieval Studies, the English Department,
Religious Studies, Women’s Studies, the History
Department, and the IHC.
