Collection showing at the UCSB University Art Museum
from Jan 5th-Feb 27th, 2005. On consecutive weeks, 3
prominent art critics will give separate talks based
on 3 works selected by each critic from the show.

Yale University, is currently Director of the Getty
Research Institute. His publications include Modern
Art in the Common Culture (1996) and The Intelligence
of Art (1999).

Professor Whiting is Professor of Art History and Visual
Studies at UC Irvine. Her publications include Antifascism
in American Art (1989) and A Taste for Pop: Pop, Gender
and Consumer Culture (1997).

Dave Hickey, a recent recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship,
is Professor of Art Theory and Criticism at the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas. His publications include The Invisible
Dragon: Four Essays on Beauty (1993) and Air Guitar:
Essays on Art and Democracy (1998).
3 on 3 is an Idee Levitan Endowed Lecture Series
organized by UC Santa Barbara's Interdisciplinary Humanities
Center.
