Poet and translator, Jerome Rothenberg (UC Regents Professor at UCSD) is the author of over 70 books of poetry and editor of 7 major anthologies of traditional and contemporary poetry, including Technicians of the Sacred (1985) (tribal and oral poetry from Africa, America, Asia, Europe, and Oceania), and Poems for the Millennium (two volumes, co-edited with Pierre Joris) (1995,1998). Professor Rothenberg, the co-founder of Ethnopoetics, will read from and talk about his own work.
