TALK: Screening the Page/Paging the Screen: Digital Poetics and the Differential Text

Sadie Dernham Patek Professor of Humanities Emerita at Stanford University, Marjorie Perloff has for decades been the most articulate advocate for avant-garde and experimental poetry in the U.S. She is the author of more than 12 books, including The Futurist Moment: Avant-Garde, Avant-Guerre, and the Language of Rupture (2003), Radical Artifice: Writing Poetry in the Age of Media (1994), and 21st-Century Modernism: The "New" Poetics (2002). Her new book, The Vienna Paradox, is forthcoming. Perloff will discuss how electronic verse has changed the reading of poetry through the work of Kenny Goldsmith, Caroline Bergvall, and Brian Kim Stefans.
