TALK: Talking in Tongues: Translating Others and Myself
Peter Wortsman
Tuesday, May 8 / 4:00 PM
McCune Conference Room, HSSB 6020
For author, playwright, translator Peter Wortsman, translation is an essential part of his creative process, both as a daily meditation and warm-up exercise, and as a source of material for his dramatic work. His play “The Tattooed Man Tells All” (2000), of which he will read a short excerpt, is freely adapted from interviews with aging concentration camp survivors, now comprising The Peter Wortsman Collection at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington D.C.
