Glenda S. Roberts is a professor in the Graduate School
of Asia-Pacific Studies at Waseda University. Her recent
publications include "Globalization and Work/Life
Balance: Gendered Implications of New Initiatives at
a U.S. Multinational in Japan," in Gottfried and
Reese, eds., Gender and Work in Comparative Perspective
(Lexington Books, 2004). She is finishing a study comparing
flexible work arrangements at a U.S. multinational
and a Japanese manufacturing firm in Tokyo; her newest
research is on violence in everyday life.
