The 3rd Annual American Cultures & Global Contexts Center’s interdisciplinary graduate conference explores how racial formation functions differently as they move across a variety of borders such as gender, sexuality, ethnicity, class, discipline and nation. The keynote speaker is Shelley Streeby, Associate Professor of American Literature at UC San Diego and author of American Sensations: Class, Empire and the Production of Popular Culture (UC Press, 2002).
