Three graduate students from the Performance Studies Research Focus Group present their research. Annette Levine (Spanish and Portuguese) discusses Aída Bortnik’s storytelling in her presentation, “Performing the Paratext: Memory and Satire During Argentina’s Dirty War;” Jason Scott (Dramatic Art) asks what “kind” of Christian is President George W. Bush in his talk, “Leaps and Lapse of Faith: George W. Bush, Religious Identity, and the Performance of the ‘Born-Again’ President;” and Ottiliana Rolandsson, (Dramatic Art) explores the formation of Arnold’s myth, and what he may mean to American culture today in her discussion, “What is Arnold? The Action Hero’s Rise to Political Stardom.”
