Dr. Jasper is a nationally acclaimed writer and speaker
who works at the intersection of culture, politics,
emotions, and social movements. An influential independent
scholar, he taught for a number of years in Sociology
at NYU, is currently co-editor of the highly popular
new American Sociological Association journal Contexts,
and is author or editor of a number of books. His latest
work is titled Rethinking Social Movements: Structure,
Meaning, and Emotion: People, Passions, and Power, co-edited
with Jeff Goodwin (Rowman and Littlefield, 2003)
