TALK: Holocaust Testimony in a Genocidal Age Geoffrey Hartman (Yale) Monday, April 19 / 8:00 PM / FREE Corwin Pavilion, UCSB Sterling Professor Emeritus of English and Comparative Literature at Yale University, Geoffrey Hartman will discuss the multi-voiced archives which have been gathered to document the destruction of European Jewry and their importance from the perspective of a time in which comparisons are made between the Holocaust and other genocides, especially those that have occurred since the Nazi era. Among his many books are three watershed volumes on Holocaust Memory: Bitburg in Moral and Political Perspective, The Longest Shadow: In the Aftermath of the Holocaust, and Holocaust Remembrance: The Shapes of Memory.
