Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Organizational
and Political Communication at Emerson College, Phil Glenn interprets
laughter not as a spontaneous emotional display, but as a highly organized
reaction. He will discuss how the features, placement and timing of
laughter contribute to its emergent meaning and functions in everyday
life.
