Human Rights Watch honors outstanding human rights defenders
from around the world each year. This year’s honorees
are Mandira Sharma, a lawyer and human rights activist
from Nepal; Veronica Cruz, an outspoken advocate of women’s
reproductive and sexual rights in Mexico; and Arnold
Tsunga, Executive Director of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for
Human Rights, an organization that is in the forefront
of the human rights movement in Zimbabwe.
