Assessing the State of Our (Im)perfect Union: Are We More Divided by Race or Partisanship?

Christopher S. Parker (Political Science, University of Washington)
Thursday, May 6 / 4:00 PM
Lane Room, 3rd floor Ellison Hall

In his new project, Parker examines the ideological and sociological origins of what has come to be known as the urban crisis of the 1960s. Parker was a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar. His well-received first book, Fighting for Democracy: Black Veterans and the Struggle Against White Supremacy in the Postwar South, re-examines the civil rights movement by gauging the extent to which black veterans contributed to social change.
